Why helloo00oo there!! I see you're reading my journal

yay! thanks...
Anyways..I know I'm kinda late in writing about New Moon considering I seen it Friday (being the 20th

)... but oh well! I wouldn't have forgiven myself if I didn't write about it on my profile for at least once!
Okaay... Well I thought New Moon was so totally amazing! Chris Weitz is a genius I believe...the visual effects used was amazing, including the CGI wolves-the way they made them was amazing, showing the minutest of details, showing slight adjustments in the facial features, showing emotions, the way they moved, the fur and it's movement in how it parted with the wind- and the sparkly guy effect-which was an improvement compared to that shown in Twilight (even though I thought the effect in Twilight wasn't entirely awful)...
If you listened to the New Moon Movie soundtrack album and bought it before watching the movie(as I did) you may have thought that they were kinda an odd mix put together but over all unique in their own individual way-well that's what I thought. In the movie they all blended in and suited the scene in the way it created the desired tension and atmosphere. I also loved how (sorry if this is a slight spoiler) some of the songs drifted in and ended up becoming a reality to the characters (song appearing on the radio) ...
I've listened to the Score to New Moon on youtube and thought it had a more classical touch than to that of the one for Twilight by 'Carter Burwell' (if you know what I mean). The score in New Moon was very subtle and I had to really listen out for them to notice them in the background.
Even though the movie was mostly sad, it did have some small jokes here and there making it slightly more cheerful (this could be because of Jacob's presence and how Bella sees him as a comfort to her...) I believe the overall colour was affected by Jacob's presence (being Jacob seen as Bella's Sun) also-instead of a blue tint shown in Twilight, there was a sort of yellow tint with other various vibrant colours added.
I loved how they really carefully thought through the costumes for Bella and the cullens-showing how she tries to dress (colour wise) similarly to the cullens, which shows her devotion towards them...
There was an improvement in acting from all actors shown previously in Twilight I believe... It was mostly noticeable in Kristen and Robert (probably due to the fact that they were playing main characters in both Twilight and partly New Moon, that way we can compare between the two)-I never even thought they needed any acting improvement anyway, but to my surprise they managed it.
Michael Sheen played the role of Aro just as I had imagined in my mind when reading the book (of course the same goes for all the other actors part of the volturi, but I think Michael played the role so much more convincingly and eerie and well, brilliant).
Rechelle Lefevre does an amazing job playing the role of Victoria in both Twilight and New Moon (might I say, mostly being New Moon) and really will be missed in the future!

I'm not really a Jacob/Taylor fan, so I didn't really apprecaite the topless scenes as much as others might have. I'd say if not all the film but at least 3 quarters of the film, Jacob had his top off...
All of the scenes in the movie blended perfectly together, so it's really difficult for me to choose a favourite scene (Chris managed to even make some of the few minor minutes into something enjoyable to watch!)
If you have not seen New Moon as of yet, might I remind you to look out for something quite unexpected when watching it...
It's really noticeable with the contrast in budget used for New Moon in comparison to Twilight..
I think Chris Weitz did an amazing job with directing New Moon...He stayed true to all the main scenes in the book-adapting a couple to suit better to a visual representation. He made the story as realistic as possible...
Okay now time for some figures!! (Taken from Gossipcop.com)
-The Twilight Saga: New Moon has set a (non-summer) weekend box office record, taking in an astounding $140.7 million since it opened nationwide at midnight on Thursday.
-The estimated international box office take for the three days is $258.8 million.
OTHER MILESTONES & NOTES:
- $140.7 million playing at 4,024 theaters for a per theater average of $34,965.
- Best single opening day ever surpassing THE DARK KNIGHT ($67.2 million)
- Biggest 2 day total to reach $100 + million ($115.9 million to surpass THE DARK KNIGHTs $114.8 million)
- Biggest November opening in history surpassing HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE ($102.7 million)
- 3rd biggest opening weekend ever surpassing PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN: DEAD MANS CHEST ($135.6 million)
- Best gross for midnight shows ever at $26.3 million surpassing HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE ($22.2 million)
Back to me...
It's a movie that is deffo worth watching! The whole audience screamed (mostly due to shirtless scenes), laughed, cried and clapped (at the end of the film when Chris Weitz's name came up on the credits)...
I'm going to see it at least for another 6 times in the cinema until it comes out on DVD...
The counting down for eclipse begins!!

Thanks for reading
Xx
